Jack is almost 7 months old

Ok so I have not been on here in forever, and I am sorry. Jack will be 7 months old on friday and he is getting so big. We went to the pediatrician last Thursday and he weighs 20.6 lbs and is 27 1/2 inches long (definitely in the 95th percentile). Jack has started eating solids twice a day and loves his food. I am making his baby food (my new culinary calling) and his favorites are sweet potatoes and carrots with rice cereal. He can sit up, roll over and hold his own bottle. It is so crazy how quickly he changes and how he is developing his own personality. He loves his Sophie the giraffe toy, listening to music (even if it is just me singing), playing with his many, many toys and getting a bath.
Jack thoroughly enjoyed his first Halloween dressed as Frankenstein. He helped mommy hand out candy to all the trick-or-treaters, maybe we will take him next year :-)
Jack's new adventure will be going to Mexico on thursday with the family. He will be the only 7 month old I know with a stamp in his passport. I am trying frantically to get all packed- it is amazing how much stuff one little person requires- yikes!
We are looking forward to the holidays and of course Jack's first Christmas will be so fun (pictures to come I promise).
Here are several recent pictures of Jack doing what he does best- being cute!

Jack's Big Week

It all started last sunday when Jack went into the swimming pool for the first time. He had on his hat and new swim bottoms and was ready to go. We set up the big umbrella on the steps for shade and him and I climbed in. At first he was a little mad because the water was cooler then his usual bath water, but after a couple minutes he was used to it and actually seemed to enjoy it-who knows maybe he will be a great Olympic swimmer (even though Misha is still convinced he will be a pitcher for the Yankees). We only stayed in the water for a few minutes because it was so hot outside, but I am so happy he enjoyed it and we will get in again this weekend. I am gonan have a lil water baby.

Then came monday morning when we had to go to pediatrician for him to get his first set of shots, I was so nervous! The doctor was very fast and Jack definitely screamed but only for a couple minutes. On top of that though, he has started teething so he is constantly chewing on his hands and drooling-this has made him a little fussy at times, but overall he still has the best temperament and best of all he sleeps through the night. He now weighs 14lbs 5oz and is 24 inches long. He is a big boy at the 95th percentile (I am not surprised though). He is happy and healthy and we could not be happier.

This weekend my cousin Megan, her husband and their new baby boy Oliver are coming to town and we are very excited to see the boys together and spend the July 4 weekend as a big family. More pics to come for sure.

Love yall!!

Jack's Smile

Hey everyone so the latest in Jack's life-he is officially smiling (on purpose). He will look at faces and smile at you. My absolute favorite is in the morning when I am super tired I go get him from the bassinet and he has a huge smile on his face when he sees me. It is the best start to my day. Jack has also started to hold a rattle and play/interact with toys. It is amazing how much has happened in the last 7 weeks. I am blown away at how fast time goes by. Jack gets his shots on June 29th so be sure to check the blog cause that will inevitably have some stories- I'm getting nervous. Love everyone!!!

Jack is 5 weeks old & gets baptized

So Jack got baptized at Holy Family church. Misha and I are so grateful to his new godparents and all friends and family who were present and others who sent their love. We are so grateful to be parents and to have such an amazing support team. Jack is definitely a lucky baby boy. The weekend was absolutely perfect.
Jack is now 5 weeks old and is getting bigger and cuter everyday. I am still in awe at what a miracle he is. Misha and I find ourselves just looking at him and watching him. He is now awake so much during the day just observing the world and people around him. He makes so many sounds. Jack is practicing his smile and has started to stare at faces. He is starting to show us his personality. He is the most laid back and well behaved baby ever. Misha and I are both back to work, and working on getting a schedule down. Jack is sleeping from about 10 pm to 3am and then back to sleep til about 7 so we are very grateful for that. He likes his sleep but definitely likes his food too- he is a growing boy.
Again, thanks to everyone!! We love yall!

Jack is 3 weeks old

Jack is 3 weeks old already! Man how time flies. He is doing absolutely great and gets cuter everyday. Today he has a doctor apt and we are very excited to see what his weight is. The above pictures were taken by his Nonnie at their first alone babysitting event.
Jack's new thing is he moans and groans and hums all the time while he sleeps. I think he really wants us to remember he is there, but who could forget that adorable face. :)
On May 17th he is getting baptized so of course tons of more pictures are coming. Love yall!

Baby Jack has arrived!

Hanging out at Nonnie and Pops house outside loving life.

Hey there Jack, here he is 3 days old and wide awake looking at mommy.

Time to get your first diaper changed, daddy was a natural!

Proud daddy holding his son for the first time.

Mommy very happy labor is over and her baby is finally in her arms. Yeah on easter sunday I got a little bit of sun, oops :)

Well, the day we had been waiting for for 9 months came early Monday morning. On April 13th after a short 6 hour labor, Jack Michael Johnson was born weighing 7lbs 7oz and 20.5 inches long. Misha and I are the happiest parents ever, and are loving absolutely every minute of parenthood. We have learned the meaning of unconditional love.
Jack is a very good baby with an amazing temperment. Actually, not to brag, but the last 2 nights he has slept 6 hours so mom and dad are very happy, and surprisingly not tired :)

Everyday is truly a blessing and we could not have imagined how perfect life would become with the arrival of our son.

Here are some beginning pics, and don't worry there are many more to come. We have a flash in his face all the time.

33 Weeks

So now I am 33 weeks. Misha and I are so excited and are just patiently (somedays not so patiently) waiting for Jack to make his grand entrance. Last week at our 32 week ultrasound the doctor told us Jack is a big boy and he will probably be around 10 pounds at birth- ouch. We have finished the nursery and all his clothes are washed so he can come home whenever he is ready. My friend Ashley is an amazing photographer and she took my pregnancy photos. These are of me and Jack at 31 weeks-enjoy! We love you all so much!!
